Change of Name - NONAP Committee now to be known as POSNA Committee
POSNA - the Preservation of Open Space and Natural Areas Committee is a 'watchdog' committee operating under the North Okanagan Naturalists’ Club or NONC.
POSNA's mandate is to ensure that development applications at the local, regional and provincial levels of government, that may be harmful or deleterious to natural areas, are identified quickly. This early intervention and evaluation will be done so that citizen action can be initiated if it is required.
POSNA's primary areas of interest are the City of Vernon, District of Coldstream and North Okanagan Regional District areas B and C. This Committee will report regularly or as often as necessary to NONC.
POSNA changed its name so that there would be no confusion with another group known as NOPNAT or North Okanagan Parks and Natural Area Trust, also a creation of the Naturalists’ Club.
